DCM Certified As A Women-Owned Business

Diamond Packaging recently announced that Diamond Contract Manufacturing, LLC (DCM),
its contract manufacturing and packaging division, has been certified as a women-owned business through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) in Washington, DC. The WBENC certification is one of the most widely recognized and respected certifications in the nation, accepted by more than 500 major corporations across the country.

Through its benchmarking surveys and ongoing interaction with certified women's business enterprises, WBENC has become the nation's leading source of information on trends in supplier diversity programs for WBEs at U.S. companies and government agencies.  1850 - The matchbox, one of the first standard types  of packaging, was introduced.

 1874 - Alber Jones constructed the first corrugated  (fluted) layers of paper to protect glass bottles.

Diamond Named Best Workplace in America

Diamond Packaging of Rochester, NY has been recognized as “Best of the Best” in the 2003 Best Workplace in America awards competition, sponsored by the Master Printers of America (MPA), a committee of industry leaders belonging to the Printing Industries of America (PIA), Incorporated. The program is designed to recognize graphic arts companies for their outstanding human relations efforts in recruiting and retaining qualified staff, which contributes to a successful workplace. This year marks the third year in a row that the honor was bestowed on Diamond Packaging.

"Since 1950, the MPA has been committed to recognizing outstanding human relations practices in the graphic arts industry,” said Brian Gill, advisor to MPA. “This program is a way to give employers doing a good job the recognition they deserve, and it continues to grow in popularity.” more

 
 

Coatings Explained

Choosing the proper coating is an essential step in designing and producing quality packaging. Why are coatings important? For some of the same reasons that packaging is important. While packaging protects and enhances the beauty of what’s inside, coatings help protect and enhance the appearance of the package itself.
